Benin City, Edo State -
The BTV Television Network has released the results of its public opinion polls for the Edo State governorship election, with Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) emerging as the clear frontrunner.

According to the results, Akpata garnered 4,527 votes, followed by Barrister Azue Ighodalo of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) with 2,656 votes. Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed behind with 896 votes.

The polls also showed Aner Abdullai Aliu of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) with 436 votes and Pastor Azena Azemhe of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with 347 votes.

The public opinion polls, which were conducted online, aimed to gauge the preferences of the electorate ahead of the governorship election.

The polls are seen as a significant indicator of the candidates' popularity and their chances of winning the election.

The BTV Television Network has been conducting public opinion polls since 2010 and has established itself as a credible and reliable source of information on political trends and preferences.

The top five candidates will proceed to the next stage of the polls, with the best three candidates eventually participating in a debate in Benin City before the final results are released.

The public opinion polls are seen as a vital tool for strengthening the values and credibility of voters' thoughts on how their votes must be made to count when the main election holds.

The Edo State governorship election is expected to be a highly contested race, with several political parties and candidates vying for the top spot.

The public opinion polls will continue to provide valuable insights into the preferences of the electorate and the chances of the various candidates.
