'No Shaking For PDP', Says Okowa As Presidential Aspirant Dankwambo Visits Delta
"I believe it is well with the @OfficialPDPNig in Delta State and in the PDP in Nigeria. I urge every party member to stay strong...there is no shaking!!!" Okowa stated.
Ibrahim Dankwambo, Governor of Gombe State, has taken his presidential campaign train to Delta State.
He paid a visit to Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State on Wednesday, and met with party leaders, stakeholders and delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dankwambo had indicated his interest to contest the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on the visit in a series of tweets via his official handle, Okowa described Dankwambo as a "major resource person to the National Executive Council (NEC)", as well as "a man of integrity and a friend to all".
He also restated the strong standing of the PDP, stating that he believes that "all is well" with the party in the state and at the national level.
He urged party members to "stay strong", noting that "there is no shaking".
The tweets read: "Normally, I don't judge people by their qualification but I know that Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo (@HEDankwambo) has been a major resource person to the National Executive Council (NEC). He is a man of integrity and a friend to all.
"As I always say, Deltans believe in democracy, we will not force the hands of the people on where they should vote. But when considerations are being made, I believe he will be one of the top candidates.
"I appreciate @HEDankwambo for his spirit, as he has said he is ready to work with whoever eventually makes it as the party candidate; that is, if eventually he does not emerge as winner after the convention.
"I believe it is well with the @OfficialPDPNig in Delta State and in the PDP in Nigeria. I urge every party member to stay strong...there is no shaking!!! Thank you!"
He thanked Dankwambo and his team for the visit, stating that it was an honour, just as he wished him well as he continues his nationwide consultations towards the party's forthcoming convention.
Dankwambo also visited Edo State later on Wednesday.
