The story circulating online claiming that Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court has recognized Senator Nenadi Usman as the authentic National Chairman of the Labour Party is false, misleading, and legally untenable.

1. No Certified True Copy (CTC), No Legal Effect

As of now, no Certified True Copy (CTC) of any such judgment has been presented or made publicly available.

In Nigerian law, a judgment without a CTC cannot be relied upon, interpreted, or enforced by any institution, including INEC, political parties, or the public.

Any claim founded on an unverified oral account or social media post is speculative and unreliable.

2. The Supreme Court Has NOT Removed Julius Abure

At no time did the Supreme Court of Nigeria expressly or impliedly remove Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party.

The Supreme Court did not install Nenadi Usman

The Supreme Court did not dissolve the Abure-led National Executive Committee

The Supreme Court did not direct INEC to recognize any parallel leadership

Any Federal High Court judge cannot reinterpret, expand, or speculate on what the Supreme Court did not state.

3. A Federal High Court Cannot Override the Supreme Court

It is a settled principle of law that:

The Supreme Court is final. No lower court can vary, amend, or infer consequences not expressly stated in its judgment.

Therefore, any claim that Justice Peter Lifu “interpreted” the Supreme Court judgment to mean Abure’s removal is procedurally impossible and legally void.

4. INEC Can Only Act on Clear, Final Orders

INEC does not act on:

Social media announcements

Press statements

Uncertified judgments

Political propaganda

INEC only acts on clear court orders backed by a CTC. To date, INEC has not withdrawn recognition of Julius Abure as National Chairman.

5. Julius Abure Remains National Chairman

Until:

The Supreme Court issues a clear, final pronouncement, and

A Certified True Copy expressly stating otherwise is produced

Julius Abure remains the National Chairman of the Labour Party under Nigerian law.

6. The Story Is Political Propaganda

The language, timing, and celebratory tone of the fake report reveal it for what it is:

A deliberate misinformation campaign

Designed to create confusion

Aimed at manufacturing legitimacy through social media pressure

Courts do not deliver judgments in gossip-style “BREAKING NEWS” formats.

CONCLUSION

The claim that Senator Nenadi Usman has been recognized as Labour Party National Chairman is false.

Until a CTC-backed, explicit Supreme Court judgment says otherwise:

INEC’s position stands,

The LAW stands.

Anything else is fake news, political mischief, and legal ignorance.
