LABOUR PARTY LEADERSHIP SUPPORT IT'S CANDIDATES TO DEMAND FOR THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO VOTE AND BE VOTED FOR

To the esteemed members of the Labour Party, the general public, and all relevant stakeholders,

We address a pressing matter concerning a recent press release by a group purported to be led by Senator Nenadi Usman, claiming to be the Interim National Chairman of the Labour Party. 

This group has made unfounded claims and attempted to mislead the public regarding our party's leadership and stance on various issues.

1. LEGITIMACY OF LEADERSHIP: The Labour Party's leadership, under Barrister Julius Abure, remains intact and legitimate. The Supreme Court's judgment of April 4, 2025, did not invalidate our national officers' tenure, as falsely claimed. Instead, it addressed specific issues without affecting the overall leadership structure.

2. OFFICIAL VISIT TO INEC HEADQUARTERS: Any planned 

3. should be evaluated on its merits and the issues it addresses, not the legitimacy of the organizers. The Labour Party, under its legitimate leadership, engages with INEC and stakeholders through lawful means, ensuring our candidates participate in upcoming elections.

3. ENGAGEMENT WITH INEC: We have been in constructive dialogue with INEC regarding elections and candidate submissions. We trust INEC to act on legitimate submissions.

4. CALL TO SECURITY AGENCIES: We hereby appreciate the security agencies for their prompt action in cumbing the fake protest concert planned by the Nenade Usman group to take over the national Secretariat of the party illegally a week ago and also to ensure citizen safety, including Labour Party members, and address any attempts to disrupt our operations or misrepresent our positions during this INEC visit.

5. PARTY LEADERSHIP & PUBLIC APPRECIATION: We appreciate our members and supporters, particularly those facing challenges with candidate nominations. We find it puzzling that some claim to be LP members yet wish harm on the party due to leadership disputes. This behavior suggests they have never genuinely supported the party.

6. UNITY AND PROGRESS: The Labour Party remains committed to democracy, good governance, and Nigerian welfare. We call on members and supporters to remain united and focused on our mission for a better Nigeria.

In conclusion, we reiterate our commitment to democracy and the rule of law, working within legal frameworks to achieve our objectives and serve Nigeria.
