APC Mega Rally In Bayelsa Showcases PDP Defectors, Slams Dickson Administration
Mr. Alaibe said his decision to defect to the APC was
based on the outcry by Bayelsa State residents and the inability of the
PDP administration in the State to provide social services or improve
infrastructure.
The former Managing
Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Timi Alaibe,
and the former Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa
State, Col. Sam Inokoba, this weekend offered reasons for the mass
movement of politicians from PDP to the All Progressive Congress (APC)
in Bayelsa State, saying it is to liberate the people from the failed
administration in the State.
Mr. Alaibe said his decision to defect to the APC was based on the outcry by Bayelsa State residents and the inability of the PDP administration in the State to provide social services or improve infrastructure.
The Defected PDP Chairman, Mr. Inokoba, said his decision to dump the PDP was based on the his view that the Party has been hijacked by Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson, and the lack of democracy within the Party itself.
Both Mr. Alaibe and Mr. Inokoba made these comments separately yesterday at the public rally the APC held for the defectors in the State.
Both leaders blasted the PDP and Governor Dickson for gross mismanagement and incompetence. Mr. Alaibe described the defectors as part of a “common sense revolution.” Mr. Inokoba said that “the government of restoration under the PDP has now become the government of retrogression and stagnation, crippling the whole economy of our State.”
The rally held yesterday was to celebrate the defection of more than 70 PDP politicians to the APC, in addition to Mr. Alaibe and Mr. Inokoba.
