Nigeria’s Secret police In Anambra State

Six Car Robbers Arrested By Nigeria’s Secret police In Anambra State

Six members of a car-snatching gang have been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State.
Two of the robbers, who have all confessed to the crime, were on the verge of dispossessing a car owner of his Honda Accord in Ajaokuta when they were apprehended.
The suspects — Nworah Ibe, Levi kelechi Eze, Joseph Igboji, James Ukoh, Titus Okwudili Duruaku and Victor Ndubuisi — were paraded before the media on Wednesday by Anambra State Director of DSS, Mr. Alex Okeiyi.
According to Okeiyi, Ukoh and Igboji (alias Onye-Owa), both natives of south-eastern Ebonyi State, were arrested at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government area of the state in collaboration with men of the Action Eagle Security Solution Limited.
“Nworah Ibe (from Enugu State) and Kelechi Eze (from Imo State) were traced to Ajaokuta, Lokoja in Koji State, where they were in the process of snatching a Honda Accord car (end of discussion) from an unsuspecting victim”, he said.
Victor Ndubuisi and Titus Okwudili Duruaku were said to have purchased a Toyota Highlander jeep with Registration Number Abuja BW851RSH and a Honda Accord car with Registration Number Anambra FGG 918 AG respectively, despite allegedly knowing that they were stolen.
All the suspects confirmed and attempted to justify their involvement in the crime.
While Nworah confessed to have been snatching cars for the past five years and to have previously served a prison term for the crime, Ukoh claimed to have been lured into the crime by Kelechi, who was putting up with him without disclosing the nature of his job. Kelechi himself said he Ukoh and Igboji tricked him into joining the gang.
After lamenting the rapidly rising incidence of car jacking in the state, Okeiyi assured that all six would be charged to court and made to face the full wrath of the law.
