In the history of magazine production
in Nigeria we ve discovered that most individuals who enter the business does
so for certain reasons that doesn’t connotes the professional values of the
media profession.
And these and more are some of the
huge reasons why magazines in Nigeria do not carry the mark of quality like
others produced in other smaller countries like Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic and
Cameroon not to talk less of the magazines produced in South Africa, a country
who enjoyed so much economic recovery support from Nigeria during the apartheid
regimes.
Most magazines in Nigeria starts with
a very huge quality in its 1st, 2nd and 3rd
editions and practically go down because of the low standard of carrying out
the values of professionalism. And later
in the months in production when their main aim is defeated by antecedents in
government policies that do not support their reasons for entering the business
in the first place.
But with btvnigeria’s nationwide
discoveries we have been able to quantify the best of all Nigerian magazine and
we cut up with its editor in chief who told us a brief story of what he does to
had made the brand a classic product in the magazine production business in
Nigeria over the years.
Mr kingsley Imafibe is the ceo and
editor in chief of the Alphaplus Magazine and has been in production for close
to three (3) years in a roll now.
He said one of the reasons why his
alphaplus magazine brand is always on top is because he loves doing the right
thing at the right time which makes it a way out of the tunnel for him and his
production crew.
The magazine has in its power the
readers value where the write ups are done in distinctive style to educate,
inform and entertain a reader and most of the magazines editions are special
history copies that should be in libraries for future educational materials for
generations yet unborn.
The magazine is a practical
demonstration of what a magazine should look like. Most people travel abroad
just to print their magazine while we do all the printing here in Nigeria and
we are still better in face quality then all those who move outside to produce
theirs, more over it’s a practical nonsense to go out of Nigeria to produce an
empty columned magazine, a magazine that doesn’t carry any information that
would better the lots of our country, I see it as a practical waste of time and
resources.
Our magazine can be seen as a very
positive injection meaning that we ve in
the recent passed contributed towards the development of Nigeria by featuring
stories of human interests that should teach the people the way forward.
The Alphaplus magazine was designed
to promote the activities of social and economic aspects of our nation and it’s
coupled with the projections of the values of youths participatory in politics.
Our magazine is the only magazine in
Nigeria that will feature a politician on issues effecting a particular area
and that politician ends up winning to represent the people positively to the extent
of we pushing to monitor these politicians who enjoyed our wide spread
readership by the people.
We are also looking at doing more
this time for politicians because the right candidates should be given the
chance of discussing the driving force behind the reasons why they are
interested in involving in the politics of a nation. In the past we have seen
most of our politicians getting into politics with a no agenda ideology and if
we can look at it very clearly we see it that they end up approving policies
that will never add values to the lives of the people.
My magazine brings great credibility
to Nigeria because it provides us with the values of letting the people see
issues the way they are no matter what it takes.
